Holy smoke! Between MySpace and the GreySlade Music tracker, Dichroi’s Sleeping Pills is about to breach the 2,500 download/plays mark! And in only 48 hrs! We want to thank everyone for their support - we realize the music we make is less conventional than the average group, so it’s invigorating to know that our creative efforts have not gone unnoticed. The interest and the kind words of support we have received over the weekend have added fuel to our fire, and we look forward to completing and sharing the inevitable album as soon as we can! In the meantime, click on the images below to view the world download distribution from the GreySlade Music tracker - apparently, India is quite the Dichroi fan! Again, thanks so much for the support – we’ll be in touch soon! –james, steve, and chad

Hey all, here are some interesting tidbits concerning the new ‘Happy Vanishing’ album! The BareFoot Collective proudly announces Habitation (February 20-22), an evening of concert dance collaborations by Gina Bolles and Carrie Goodnight. The evening features local music (including The Happy Vanishing), San Diego-based somebodies dance theatre, and the work of Eugene artists Ian Coronado, Valerie Ifill, and Kyle Sorensen. Habitation takes the audience on an exploration of the two studio spaces at Barefoot in Tacoma, WA. The concert weaves four choreographic styles together in a variety of quirky physical environments.
Show info: Friday and Saturday, February 20-21 at 8 p.m.; Sunday, February 22 at 2 p.m. Friday night’s performance also features a reception and an artist Q and A session. $15 general/$12 students and seniors. Tickets are available at the door or through www.brownpapertickets.com.
In other Happy Vanishing news, Click! Network has offered the Tacoma Arts Commission its own On Demand button. Year-round, the Commission will air videos, images, and sound pieces of funded artists, and Commission-related events and programs. One of the programs that will be available for the entire year is the 2008 Tacoma Art Slam. This year the Art Slam contained a few of my photographs and graphic designs. The background music consisted of instrumental versions of pieces from the ‘Happy Vanishing - Where Rails Meet Sails’ album, as well as some other compositions I wrote and recorded. So for those who were unable to attend the Art Slam this year, you’ll now be able to see it anytime you want - on TV!
And finally, College Vision will also be incorporating Happy Vanishing music into its programming in the near future. You can catch College Vision within Tacoma city limits on cable channels 28 (Comcast), and 89 (Click!). It’s been a great experience being a part of the local art & music scene and I really look forward to continuing to do so in the future! Thanks for checking in! Look for more Happy Vanishing news soon!
